This section allows you to approach the data by clicking through various indices.

Chronology: The dates given in our Catalogue refer to English items copied between s. ximed and s. xiii1.

Texts: We use ID numbers given in A. Cameron, 'List of Old English Texts', A Plan for the Dictionary of Old English, ed. by R. Frank and A. Cameron (Toronto: University of Toronto Press, 1973), pp. 25-306 and the Old English Corpus. The ID numbers unique to our Catalogue are identified with '.EM' at the end.

OriginList and Map: We give the known origins of the manuscripts if they were produced between 1060 and 1220; if the manuscripts were produced before 1060, we give the known locations of the manuscripts between 1060 and 1220, i.e., when English items were likely to be added.

French: A list of manuscripts also containing French (read about the French of England).

Places: Index of place names mentioned in the manuscript descriptions. The list is not intended to be comprehensive.

Names: Index of personal names mentioned in the manuscript descriptions. The list is not intended to be comprehensive.
